Vorta Ambassador Ship

Overview
The Ambassador is the ship the Dominion sends when it wants something understood rather than taken. It carries the voice of the Founders to foreign powers, and it is built so that the voice cannot be ignored — refined, ceremonial, and deliberately untouchable. The Vorta who crew it describe it as a sacred extension of the Great Link. In practical terms it is a mobile embassy with the displacement of a capital ship.
That distinction matters more now than it did before the war. The treaty of 2375 stripped the Dominion of its military infrastructure and capped what it is permitted to build. An Ambassador is not military infrastructure. It is a diplomatic vessel, filed as one and inspected as one, and at nine hundred and twenty metres it is longer than anything the Dominion is currently permitted to field openly beyond its own borders. Every weapon aboard is buried inside the hull and the wing edges. Nothing about it sits in violation of anything. Every officer who has stood a watch opposite one understands exactly what they are looking at.
Specifications
Length — 920 m
Beam — 440 m
Height — 170 m
Crew — 127
Passengers — 48, seated as a Vorta Council
Role
Diplomatic envoy. Mobile embassy. Negotiation and treaty operations. High command transport.
An Ambassador does not travel to deliver a message. It travels to be present while a message is delivered, and its presence is the larger half of the argument.
Systems
Shield-optimised deflector grid — the defensive priority of the design, at the cost of offensive capacity a hull this size could otherwise carry
Discreet weapon systems — integrated into the hull and wing edges rather than mounted on them
Advanced holographic negotiation suites — full-environment simulation for talks conducted without either party leaving their own deck
Vorta audience transport — dedicated, isolated movement for the Vorta delegation
Ceremonial hull ornamentation — not decorative in Dominion terms, and read as rank by anyone who knows how to read it
Quantum communications array — direct contact with the Founders, at range and without relay
Notable Compartments
Vorta Audience Chamber — elevated and isolated, built for ceremony and for command. Visitors are received here and nowhere else
Crescent Deflector Arrays — enhanced shielding built into the wing structure that gives the class its silhouette
Hidden Weapon Ports — concealed along the hull and the wing edges, invisible until the moment they are not
Ceremonial Engine Nacelles — the soft violet exhaust is a deliberate signature, and across the Gamma Quadrant it is recognised on sight
Holographic Negotiation Suites — diplomatic interfaces and secure communication arrays, swept continuously
Comparative Scale
Attack Ship, roughly 200 m. Escort, roughly 300 m. Ambassador, 920 m. Dreadnought, roughly 1,400 m. Carrier, roughly 1,600 m.
It is not the largest thing the Dominion builds. It is the largest thing the Dominion is willing to park in someone else’s system and call a courtesy.
Encountering One
An Ambassador does not arrive unannounced. Notice is given, routes are filed, and the approach is made at a stately fraction of what the ship is capable of. All of that is part of the instrument. By the time it makes orbit, every party in the system has had time to consider what its presence means and to arrange themselves accordingly.
Boarding is by invitation. Inspection is permitted, conducted along a route chosen by the hosts, and concludes without finding anything. Crews who have run one report the same impression afterwards: that they were shown precisely as much as the Vorta intended to show them, and that the courtesy was genuine and beside the point.
